How To Rebuild Your Artistic Confidence (After AI)

Well, I'm a bit late to the party with this one but I somehow only found out about DreamUp about a week or so ago. Against my better judgement, I decided to experiment a bit with the technology (Don't worry, I won't be posting any A.I. images here. Though, in some future articles on my Wordpress blog discussing the technology, I'll include labelled examples of them). I can definitely see the appeal and, on a technical level, it's noticeably better than another generator ("Craiyon") that I briefly dabbled with last year. The sheer randomness of what it will generate is oddly... compelling... too, but the limited number of prompts thankfully served more as a "Wait! Isn't this enough?" safety barrier than as an enticement to use the technology more. On a purely technical/scientific level, the software is impressive. Of course, on an emotional level, it is much less impressive. Leaving aside how it doesn't even feel remotely like "making art" - feeling more like just entering a question
